I have a real craving for Crave's Nasi Lemak every once in a while, so I ordered a Grab delivery from the West Mall branch. I got the Ayam Berempah (Crispy Fried Chicken Leg) Nasi Lemak and a side of Spicy Fish Otah. Let's start with the positives, of which there are many. The food itself is very good. The Rice: This is the absolute best part for me. I love that they use Basmati rice. It's perfectly fragrant, light, firm, and li li fen ming (each grain is separate). The Chicken: The Ayam Berempah was fried to a deep, crispy-skin finish. It was a little drier than I've had on previous occasions, but still had a good amount of juicy meat. The Sides: The sambal itself is delicious—sweet, spicy, and rich. The Spicy Fish Otah was also a good, flavourful accompaniment. Now, the reason this is a 4-star review and not a 5-star: the sambal chilli policy. The default portion of sambal they provide is, frankly, measly. It is nowhere near enough for the generous portion of rice. For any serious Nasi Lemak fan, the sambal is a crucial, non-negotiable component, not a "nice to have" extra. To then be charged 50 cents for extra chilli feels genuinely disturbing and stingy. It's a frustrating dilemma. The food is good, and I can only blame myself for continuing to crave it. I'll grumble about it, but yes, I'll still pay the extra 50 cents because the meal needs it. However, I would be a much more frequent customer if they either provided a decent amount of sambal to begin with or just stopped charging for it.

This is my second purchase from the store. I acknowledge that the store employees were not performing well in their own jobs and were simply doing their work without any effort. It would be great if the management could do something for their employees and provide them with quality training.

I purchased a meal from Crave at West Mall on 23 March at around 12:30 PM. Upon returning, I ate it immediately, but was disappointed to find that both the rice and fillet were cold. The fillet in particular was quite hard, as if it had been left out for an extended period. In addition, the portion of rice provided was noticeably small. It appeared to be the remaining portion from the tray, and it was served without topping up to a proper serving size. While I understand that food may not always be piping hot, receiving it cold along with an inadequate portion is unacceptable. At a price of $6.20, this was not a satisfactory experience.
