Came across Coftea & Mee by chance and was pleasantly surprised. The shop is a bit hidden, but the food quality is really good and there’s a wide variety to choose from. They serve yong tau foo, claypot dishes, stir-fried food, pastries and handmade coffee. The place is clean, cosy and comfortable for a relaxed meal. It’s also Halal-certified, which is a plus. Tried the claypot curry chicken — very fragrant, hearty and comforting. The yong tau foo was good too. Really enjoyed the coffee here, nicely brewed and aromatic. Overall a nice spot in Tampines. Would definitely come back again.
Stumbled upon a little homely cafe in Tampinese. Fully aircon with wifi, was just gonna get a quick bite and do some work. Was blown away by its food though, they grind their coffee fresh on the spot and served a surprisingly delicious ayam penyet (big portion) too. Prices are very reasonable too. Would consider it as a hidden gem as it’s tucked away in a little corner without much human traffic and wasnt very busy the whole time i was there… Will certainly return and try its other dishes 🔥🔥
I've visited this eatery several times, primarily for their Yong Tau Foo (YTF), but my honest opinion is that the YTF is just average. The selection of ingredients is limited, and their broths; Laksa, and Tom Yum, don't quite hit the mark and taste of what you would expect. Their YTF is priced on the higher side at around $9 for six ingredients plus noodles. While the YTF isn't bad, it's a dish I'd personally pass on in the future. One of the only reasons for my repeated visits was because of there are no other YTF stalls around that area. However, the real gems here are their Claypot dishes. I was incredibly impressed after trying their Claypot Curry Chicken, Rendang Chicken, and Chef's recommended Sesame Oil Chicken. Just to take note that their Claypot with rice and a drink amounts to slightly above $9 too. • The Claypot Curry Chicken is fantastic, with a thick, creamy, and mildly spicy curry. The chicken itself is perfectly cooked and very tender. • The Claypot Rendang Chicken is unique and delicious; doesn’t taste like Rendang at all but still good. It is mildly spicy, it tasted like a sweeter version of the curry. It was surprisingly my favorite of the bunch. • The Sesame Oil Chicken is also excellent, featuring a thick, savoury, mildly spicy and flavorful broth with a perfect balance of sesame oil and ginger. The overall experience is elevated by the ambience; it's air-conditioned, quiet, and very cozy. The staff are polite and attentive, which is a big plus. It's also great to know that the eatery is Halal-certified. In summary, while I wouldn't recommend the Yong Tau Foo unless you are craving for one around this area, I will definitely be returning for their amazing Claypot series and the wonderful environment.
