Dan PI recently ordered Grab delivery from Chops and Sear at Hougang Avenue 6, and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Aglio Olio Pasta, and despite it being peak dinner hours, the food arrived quickly and still warm, which is always a plus when ordering delivery. The pasta was well-cooked with a nice al dente texture, and the garlic-infused olive oil added a rich, aromatic flavor that made every bite enjoyable. The turkey bacon was a great addition—crispy, slightly smoky, and not overly salty, complementing the dish perfectly. The portion size was also reasonable for the price, making it a satisfying meal. I appreciate how Chops and Sear maintains a good balance between affordability and quality. Many Western food places tend to be inconsistent when it comes to delivery, but this experience reassured me that they take care in preparing and packaging their food properly. I will definitely consider ordering from them again and perhaps even visiting their physical outlet to try other dishes on their menu. Buttered Rice is nice and flavourful Spaghetti with Fried Fish (4.5/5) - Fish portion is big. Do note fillet is the standard Pangasius Hypothalamus aka Vietnam Catfish. No gamey smell. Spaghetti seasoned well and a hint of spiciness 🌶 Grilled Salmon (4/5) - Salmon slightly overdone but seasoned well. Sauce is nice. Could do with a lemon wedge garnish Cheesy Onion Rings (4.5/5) - Pro Tip: Eat it right away while it's piping hot Overall: 4.3/5 Good to have affordable Halal - Western shop in the Hougang neighbourhood. Near to Monfort and Punggol Pri. Walkable from Hougang MRT or Bus Interchange too by cutting through the blocks!
