I came here based on a TikTok video showing their unlimited curry rice and upgraded overflowing ice-blended drink. However, what a disappointment! They told me the ice machine was down, so I decided to order a normal iced coffee instead. It turns out they didn't have any ice at all. I mean, how difficult is it to simply buy a bag of ice from a nearby NTUC store and keep it in their freezer to use? The curry rice was incredibly dry the driest I've ever eaten. I had to go back and ask for more curry. Come on the curry wasn’t even on my chicken cutlet as well. Have you seen seen other curry rice or those normal Japanese curry rice? To sufficiently taste the curry or presumed to even look like a normal plate of curry rice that everywhere in Singapore is selling. The chicken was so poorly fried that it was hard like a rock. I actually had to drink my hot coffee just to quench my thirst after trying to chew the chicken cutlet. Also, for the chicken cutlet rice set I bought, they claimed they had run out of vegetables. I was shocked! They then offered to substitute the missing vegetables with an additional egg. Curry rice without the proper vegetable side is not curry rice. The shop displays heritage murals, which suggests you have a better understanding of good service and management. I came at 2:00 PM, and the entire experience was a disaster. Shouldn’t you have prepared for a 2nd machine? Shouldn’t you have other ways to get the vegetable? Rivervale Plaza don’t sell the same vegetable to use? It’s curry rice and the vegestable can easily be bought at the NTUC or wet market? What’s the boss of this business doing? Trying to Chomp down its own business?
Today I decided to give the curry rice another try, it tasted fine and I realised what went wrong when I ordered it on grabfood. So few months ago we order x5 curry chicken cutlet rice, everyone said that it tasted odd or not very nice. My FiL who is always sensitive to food taste immediately say "chao sng already sour cannot eat" but then in my mind I'm like - I don't think such a big restaurant dares to sell overnight food lah relax. So here is what I found, the "cha0 sng" taste actually comes from the veg being mixed together in the package with all the other sauces Now that I tasted the veg on the side by itself, I'm sure this veg is somewhat fermented. So with the curry lacking of flavour and then mixed together with the veg - voila You've got a chao sng curry taste 😂. In my opinion if this feedback is helpful, next time it is better to pack the veg separately for takeaways.
Noodles are undercooked (hard in the middle) and stuck together. Very disappointed 😞 Date and time of visit: 18 Jan 2026 around 5.15 pm.
