My family and I have been loyal customers of this chicken rice stall for many, many years, way back since this food court was still known as Banquet—so easily over 15 years. In our opinion, it remains one of the best, most reliable chicken rice spots in this entire area. Their specialty has always been the Roast Chicken, and it's consistently excellent. This time, I ordered a takeaway of a quarter chicken ($12) and a portion of rice ($1.30). As always, the chicken was beautifully cooked—perfectly tender, moist, and full of flavour right through to the meat. The other components are just as strong. The rice is wonderfully fragrant, firm, and cooked just right, with the grains being distinct. The sauces are a huge plus for me. The chilli sauce is properly shiok and has a great kick. I also personally love their black soy sauce—it's a must-add for me, and theirs is the thick, rich, good-quality kind, not the diluted, watery stuff. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review for me is the price. While the quality is undeniable, it is on the pricey side for a food court stall. That said, it's a high-quality meal that has never disappointed us in all these years. (P.S. A good tip: You get a 10% discount if you pay using the NTUC Fairprice app, which definitely helps with the price!)
Yummy chicken dumplings noodles budget meal. Chilli is spicy. To try: Chicken porridge
The chicken rice tastes decent, but however the extra chicken cost $3.50 which total cost $8.30 ($9.30 after adding egg) Compare to all the chicken rice this is considered expensive for the other chicken rice ive tried around the area. Even fitra chicken rice (halal) cost $5 after adding extra chicken.
