Came for the lunch buffet. Service was decent. But the food left a lot to be desired. The oysters are a nice touch for a lunch spread, but execution was not the best with some served dead. The tuna was not fresh, and the overall spread was fairly limited and not cohesively located (e.g. keropok was located next to hummus while the sambal was placed at the opposite counter). The hotpot station had no meat, which felt like a significant oversight for a buffet. Worst of all, we were seated directly under an aircon unit that was dripping water throughout the meal. Would recommend checking the condition of the venue before seating guests. This felt like a maintenance issue that should’ve been caught.

Underwhelming Buffet for the Price: Expensive buffet with poor refills, rushed closing, average food, and service that doesn’t match a high-end hotel standard. Dined at Chara Brasserie for their buffet and felt the overall experience did not live up to expectations, especially given the premium pricing. One major issue was the lack of food replenishment, particularly for key items like lobster, which is promoted as a highlight. By around 1:45–2:00 PM, the live cooking station was already unattended, making it impossible to request freshly prepared items. From approximately 2:15 PM onwards (well before the official 3 PM closing time), the restaurant appeared to be preparing to close. Unfinished plates were cleared quickly, buffet stations were left empty, and no further refills were provided. This made the last part of the dining experience feel rushed and incomplete. While the food quality was acceptable, it was nothing memorable. The beverage selection was limited, and overall service did not justify the high price point. Compared to other hotel buffets in the same price range, this experience fell short. Some smaller details also affected the overall impression: • The chair design does not seem to fit the space well, affecting comfort. • The hotpot offering felt out of place, with very basic ingredients such as fish balls. If hotpot is included, a proper cooking station or better-quality selection would improve the experience significantly. That said, I want to acknowledge that one staff member was diligent and tried his best to provide good service, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall experience suggests a management or operational issue rather than individual staff performance. Overall, the buffet does not match the standard expected of a high-end hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, not a value-for-money experience.

Really enjoyed my visit to Chara Brasserie! The buffet has a great mix of Mediterranean and Asian flavours, and everything tasted fresh. Loved the seafood selection, especially the oysters and dinner lobster. The grill whole baby lamb carved on the spot was tender and so flavourful. They also have a nice hot pot corner with plenty of ingredients, plus sashimi, hot dishes, and a comforting wild berry crumble pie for dessert. Cozy ambience and friendly service — perfect for family meals or gatherings.
