Finally tried this after so long. It's passable. Rendang was tough and had no flavour. Sambal sotong was ok. Bayam was so-so. Asam pedas was diluted but the pari was fresh. The seating arrangement is slightly claustrophobic. Even off-peak it feels like there's not much space to move. At about $14/ plate, I Won't be coming again. Mid nasi padang in the middle of Geylang is no bueno
We think this place served better tasting than the ones you know who.. We visited a day before deciding to bring over my mum and aunts, so it was good and that’s why we came back next day with the troops. Meals were hidang of 2 portions per dishes; sting ray asam pedas (wish it was thicker and more savoury still it tasted good), ayam ijo and merah (good), ikan masak tauchu (good), sambal sotong, ulaman with belacan (good), sambal goreng (good), bakwan (nice sauce, crunchy hard texture), lopis (good).. Wouldn’t mind visiting again if they maintained their style of cooking (not lack of ingredients as per some eateries) Wishing you guys the best, staffs could be alot more relaxed, don’t be too kanchiong getting the orders, sometimes during these transactions we felt uneasy and might think you are a tad unfriendly.. but not too worry, all is good
Had their Roti Kirai with curry! I ordered two sets and asked them to combine it into one big plate and bowl and they were happy to oblige. FYI, one set contains 3x pieces of roti kirai. I was very hungry hence the double portion 😅 The roti kirai was fluffy and the curry was light yet flavourful. Generous portion of ayam given too. Service was warm and prompt.
