So after riding 90km + my friends suggested we eat here. And honestly they have been raving about it for ages… so I thought ok let’s go. We came around 11am and they just opened then. My friend ordered 5 sets of mutton mendi for us. The boss said “are you sure, that’s too much rice” so he took away some after serving us the platter. Omg it was so delicious. Mutton serving was very generous and what the hell, that rice was just perfect. Sorry as an Asian who eats rice since young, I don’t know but this rice was crazy good. Flavourful, not overcooked, still has a bite and the rice grains are separated, we kinda regretted not having all the rice. Pretty much life changing for me. Owner was very friendly and even had a chat with us about our cycling adventure. Highly recommend, we will be back and I shall bring my parents here too. No regrets 🙏😋

My favorite Mandi place in Singapore. Have tried the mutton, lamb shank and chicken and all are delicious. The mutton and shank are so tender that they can be broken apart by the back of the spoon and the rice is smoky and light. The owner uses a blowtorch to smoke the meats, enhancing the smokiness and char. He also keeps the fat on the mutton which melts in your mouth, making the meal feel like total bliss. I also strongly recommend trying the mint tea and teh tarik, they are incredible palette cleansers for this incredible meal. Note: they only sell Mandi now, not biryani.

Cafe Mariam serves one of the best biryanis I’ve had in a long time. The mutton biryani is absolutely amazing — full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and incredibly satisfying. The meat is tender, the rice is fragrant, and the spices are balanced perfectly. You can really taste the quality and care in the food. They also serve chicken biryani for those who prefer chicken, and it’s delicious as well. But personally, I highly recommend the mutton version — it’s truly exceptional. What also makes this place special is the atmosphere and hospitality. The owner is extremely kind, friendly, and welcoming, which makes the dining experience even better. It’s always nice to visit places where people genuinely care about their customers. If you are a biryani lover, this place is definitely worth trying. Highly recommended, and I will definitely come back again.
