My 4-year-old daughter wanted Burger King, so we went to the Paya Lebar branch near us. People always say to be kind to service crew because you never know if they’re having a bad day!but unfortunately, this staff member ended up giving me one instead. I first placed my order at the self-service machine, but since the ShopBack option wasn’t available, I went to the counter. The total at the counter came up higher than what I saw on the machine. I asked why it was $17.40 when the machine showed $15.90. I know it’s not a big difference, but her response felt dismissive 😒she said in an unfriendly tone, “It’s all the same price, ma’am. You can check later.” Not wanting to hold up the queue, I paid first. But it didn’t sit right with me, so I went back to the machine to double-check. I was right, so I took a photo and showed it to her. She then said I had upsized my order. I explained that I didn’t ask to upsize. She claimed she asked if I wanted a small or medium drink, but I told her she had asked me to choose between medium or large and I chose medium. She then replied, in a condescending tone, that they don’t have large drinks. Instead of resolving the issue, she kept insisting she was right. I chose not to escalate things because I was with my 4-year-old daughter, but the attitude of this staff member really needs to be highlighted. I understand everyone goes through tough days, but that shouldn’t be reflected in how customers are treated.
I chose Burger King because I expected better quality. However, the Angus Classic BBQ burger I received had a patty that was blackened around the outside and tasted burnt/overcooked. For a premium burger meal, this was disappointing. I hope the team can improve their cooking quality control before serving customers.
For me, Burger King is the best fast-food burger. You actually get a real burger — juicy, satisfying, and properly grilled. It tastes like an actual beef patty, not something overly processed. Compared to other fast-food burgers that feel dry or make you wonder whether you’re eating real meat or not, Burger King stands out. The burgers are consistently juicy and filling, which is exactly what I look for when I’m craving fast food. When I want a proper burger without going to a sit-down restaurant, Burger King is my go-to.
