TrancemasterBlue Ocean Kopi & Toast at Limbang Shopping Centre is a small cafe in this neighbourhood shopping mall that sells mainly local food and local kopi (& toast). I had: Blue Pea Nasi Lemak Chicken Wing Set ($5.50): The set came with deep fried peanut, cucumber, a sunny side up egg and achar. The deep fried chicken wing was crispy and still juicy. The blue pea coconut rice could have been more fragrant though. Kopi O - gao ($1.50): relatively good traditional local coffee with good aroma and 'gao' taste. The service: the self collection of the food and coffee was efficient and brisk, although the server has to shout out the number due to the layout of the cafe, as some seats were blocked by walls. The verdict: A good value air-conditioned cafe for a simple meal and a cuppa.
Joshua ChewI was very surprised that there was almost no one in the restaurant. We decided to visit this restaurant on a weekday evening. The price for the food is quite affordable, the quality of the food is honestly not the best. We ordered the noodles and curry chicken where Uncle forgot to give potatoes. Thankfully, they were very polite and apologised for the error. The char siew tastes a bit weird, and nasi lemak is quite mediocre. We decided to buy the chendol too, which is not bad. The place is recommended if you like a quiet place to chat and chill or just want to try their food.
elayna chinWas recommended by my true blue singaporean fiance to try out their nasi lemak around his neighbourhood. We ordered the Blue pea curry chicken nasi lemak $6.8, Blue pea bbq cuttlefish nasi lemak $8.8 and Teh bing. Service was good albeit food took quite some time to be served. Loved the ambience and the blue interior gave out the traditional feels. I was a bit disappointed with the meal as I was expecting authentic Malay/nyonya taste. It was more cafe style and did not satisfy my Malaysian tastebuds - Curry chicken was fresh, meaty and juicy - BBQ Sotong portion is small but i think it’s standard - Nasi Lemak Rice not fragrant enough - Acar nice & Roasted peanut and anchovies is nice All in all, for $20+ it’s a good try, the curry chicken is good but I’ll likely go hunt for other blue pea rice elsewhere. Any to recommend ?
