I went there for Ban mian, but it was closed, so I tried the Hokkien mee instead. To my surprise, it had that amazing wok hei flavor and a spicy kick from the chili. What an unexpected find! Worth the calories. The hawker is airy, spacious and clean, making dinning experience enjoyable 😀

It’s not often that you come across a halal Hokkien mee stall, so stumbling upon this place felt like finding a hidden gem! We ordered the Hokkien Fried Prawn Mee ($5) and the Fried Kway Teow ($4) — and both turned out to be surprisingly good. The Fried Kway Teow leans towards a middle ground between the Singapore-style sweet dark sauce and the Penang-style savoury version. There’s a gentle hint of sweetness, but it’s not overpowering. While it doesn’t have that heavy wok hei punch some may crave, the flavors are still well-balanced and satisfying. Before we knew it, the whole plate was gone. The Hokkien Fried Prawn Mee is the wet style, brimming with a rich, umami-packed broth that coats the noodles beautifully. The chili, with its distinct belacan profile, is robust and aromatic. On its own, it might come across as strong, but when mixed with the noodles, it balances out perfectly and elevates the dish. All in all, both dishes were well-executed, tasty, and great value. For those seeking halal options without compromising on flavor, this is definitely a spot worth checking out. And here’s a bonus tip — if you pay with the FairPrice app, you’ll even get 10% off. Good food and a good deal, what’s not to love? 😋

Fried kway teow was not greasy and got wok hei taste. Lots of fishcakes and hums for $5 but mouthed a few tiny pieces ofbeggshell.
