Walked in at 7.30am — yes, during actual operational hours, not before sunrise, not during a staff meeting, not during her personal reflection time. Asked to buy 3 mini pies and 1 normal-sized pie. Big mistake. This apparently triggered a full attitude activation. Before I could even finish my sentence, I was hit with an aggressive, reluctant “NO CANNOT”, delivered as if I had just asked for a lifetime supply of free pastries. For the record, I fully understood the normal pie wasn’t part of the buy-3-get-1-free deal and was — shockingly — willing to pay for it. Then came payment. I showed my card and was once again blessed with a sharp, dismissive “NO PAYWAVE!” as if card payments were a personal insult. And no, this isn’t a one-off. This is not the first time encountering her legendary attitude, so clearly this is her standard customer service package. If interacting with customers is such a painful ordeal, perhaps reconsider working front-facing retail. Being open doesn’t just mean unlocking the doors — it also means not acting like customers are an inconvenience. Came to buy pies. Left with disbelief.
I ordered a round swiss carrot cake as birthday cake. Though the manager mentioned no cake knife or candle is provided during ordering, when I went to collect, he had specially arranged for plastic cake knife and candle. The carrot cake and cheesecake is delicious and not too sweet. Good selection of pastries and cakes at attractive price. Staff are friendly and helpful.
