Afandi Hawa & Family Mee Rebus is better known for its signature Mee Rebus, but their Soto Ayam is a clear, flavourful, and notably less greasy version of the classic dish that stands out on its own. Here are the key highlights of their Soto Ayam. 🍜 Soup & Flavour · Quality: The clear soup is brimming with robust chicken flavour and is significantly less greasy than many other versions, with no visible oil puddles. · Key Feature: It offers a lighter, cleaner taste without compromising on depth of flavour. 🍗 Chicken & Accompaniments · Chicken: The shredded chicken is tender but can be a bit dry, likely from being boiled in the soup. · Chilli Warning: The accompanying sambal chilli is famously spicy. It's recommended to try a small amount first before mixing it all in, as it delivers a strong, lingering heat. 👍 Final Verdict This Soto Ayam is an excellent choice if you prefer a cleaner, flavour-packed broth over a rich, coconut-heavy one. While the Mee Rebus is the star here, the Soto Ayam is a more than capable and satisfying alternative. .

First time trying meehoon soto here. It comes with bergedil, so it costs $4.00, 50 cents for bergedil. I do agree that bergedil absorbed the soup, soften, and not as nice as eating it hot and crunchy. The soup has herbs flavours, probably the common herbs used by Malays or Indonesians when preparing soup. When added with their sambal, the kick was minimal but it has the spicy aftertaste. The carb and protein portion are generous, they gave me lean meat, not dry, but it was not tender or juicy type. What was missing here is some vegetables but i understand that the recipe doesn't come with any vegetables except cilantro for ganishing.

Ordered the mee rebus, mee soto and gado-gado. All 3 were sedap. Love the thick mee rebus gravy, the tender rice cakes and flavorful mee soto broth laden with chicken. There are just those days where you miss the old school food and this is it.
