Great food like in the past! Yummy. Coney dog, curly fries, root beer float, waffle ice cream are all good! Friendly staff too! — Still the best curly fries! This branch has very few seats though. Think I’m lucky I came at off peak. Weekend early lunch. Set plus waffles is abit too much though. Would order less next time so will be cheaper.
A&W at Tampines is usually very crowded, which reflects its popularity, but the overall dining experience feels a bit mixed when compared to other fast food options in the area. One of the main downsides is the pricing. It is noticeably more expensive than many other fast food chains, and aside from the signature root beer float, it’s difficult to see strong value or justification for the higher cost. The food itself is fairly standard and doesn’t particularly stand out in terms of quality or uniqueness. During my visit, there was also an order issue where the ketchup and chili sauce were swapped. After I pointed it out to a staff member, she relayed it to the manager. However, the manager initially seemed to avoid addressing the issue and only reacted after realizing I was the customer who had complained. This gave a somewhat unprofessional impression and affected the overall service experience.
Been there once last month during fasting. The waiter is doing the best he can. I forgot his name but his work is commendable. Another person, Benson is also pretty good at manning the cashier. (hehe, Regular show reference) Food's been presented greatly though my main complaint is that the place is too short. Maybe they should have more tables outside. That's my only gripe but if they can improve it by enlarging the restaurant, then we can hope to see more A&W soon. Really miss the S'pore version it. Haven't been to A&W for a while and I only recalled it from photos of it as a wee child.
