Food is excellent and very affordable, but service is TRASH. I decided to try this stall after seeing the consistent queues. While the food is objectively good and reasonably priced, the service from the cashier aunty totally ruined the experience. The issues started before I even reached the counter. I watched her respond with unnecessary sarcasm to the customer ahead of me simply because he asked if there were any eggs left. While I understand it was close to closing time, a simple "no" would have sufficed; instead, she chose to give a condescending remark. When it was my turn, the hostility continued. I tried to order the chicken wing and sotong fillet sets, and she snapped that the sotong was sold out. When I asked for the fish fillet instead, I got the same aggressive reaction. Her tone was incredibly rude and arrogant, as if my attempt to order was a personal inconvenience to her. Even as I kept my composure and asked what was actually available, she remained dismissive. It’s a pity because the food is actually good, but no one deserves to be treated with such blatant disrespect. I’ve noticed many other reviews highlighting this exact same cashier aunty, which shows this is a persistent issue that management has failed to rectify. Not worth patronising. I’d rather spend my money elsewhere where staff understand basic courtesy. 10/10 will NOT recommend.
The mee goreng is to die for. Ayam rendang and ayam masak merah are must call here. It is not exactly the same as the padang stall but the slight sweetness in the masak merah is perfect for a spice novice like me. Ayam rendang is fragrant and goes wonderful with the nasi lemak rice. Rice is not super coconuty so you won't get sick of it too fast but it not the the flavour bomb that some people are looking for. However, when paired with the flavours of the meat *chef kiss* I do not know where they get their sotong fillet from but that thing is bomb. I know its just frying it but damn, i need to get the supplier. Mee goreng is great, especially if you come early and its hot. Not too spicy but has the kick most people are look for. Doesn't have the strong yellow noodles taste. OH, and the chilli, if you like sweet nasi lemak chilli, do ask for more or regret not having enough for the rest of your rice. All in all, really enjoyed my meal here. Do take note that the queue may get longer so come early!
Had a really pleasant experience here. Susan was incredibly friendly and approachable, and her service felt very genuine and warm. She communicates well and makes you feel comfortable, which is something I really appreciate. I initially planned to buy just one set, but because of how kind and welcoming she was, I ended up getting a total of 9 sets for my family and neighbours. That really says a lot about the impression she left. The way she interacts with customers reminds me of how my mum takes care of people, very kind, attentive, and wholesome. It’s small things like this that really make a place stand out. Thank you, Susan, for the great service. Will definitely come back again!
